Features

removable water reservoir
water level indicator
on removable reservoir

The 12 cup removable water reservoir has a built-in water filter (use optional).

The reservoir has its own lid, separate from the brew basket, which helps keep coffee grounds out of the water tank.

Dual water windows are marked with fill indicators.

removable brew basket
brew basket and showerhead

The Heritage brew basket itself is also removable.

A permanent filter is included with purchase. The permanent filter differs from the usual "gold-tone" permanent filters in that it uses a meshy micro-screen to filter coffee.

Audible tones signal the beginning and end of the brew cycle, while a Pause N Serve function allows you to sneak a cup before brewing is complete.

You can adjust the warming plate to keep coffee at your preferred temperature.

12 cup glass carafe

An indicator light lets you know when the brewer needs to be cleaned.

Excess cord storage is at the back of the machine

There is a one year warranty for this Sunbeam coffee maker.

Programming

clock and controls
clock, and controls

The Heritage Sunbeam coffee maker has a 24-hour programmable back-lit clock, which also displays the Auto-On time. Sunbeam calls the clock "Simple Set™," and most owners agree the programming is a breeze.

The brewer automatically shuts itself off two hours after brewing.

A dial allows you to adjust the strength of the brew from mild, to medium, to strong.

"Fresh Brew Timer" is an additional feature which shows how long brewed coffee has been sitting on the warming plate.

bullet Consumers are very pleased with the water reservoir on this Sunbeam coffee maker. It is easily removed and replaced with no spills. Fill lines are clear and easy to read.
bullet Owner consensus is that the clock and the Auto On function are very easy to program. This machine is fast and easy to set up. Brewing is a cinch.
bullet The Sunbeam Heritage offers a great number of features not usually offered in a brewer at this price range. Consumers particularly like the Fresh Brew Timer, which shows time elapsed since brewing.
bullet The permanent filter included with purchase is a hit. Most prefer this microscreen filter over other permanent filters they have used.

Cons:

bullet There are some reports of brewer malfunction. Sources of malfunction are varied, and don't point to a singular design flaw: heating element died, switch broke off, pump stopped working, reservoir gasket broke.
bullet Some owners feel this brewer is very bulky. It is tall and must be moved around on the counter to access the reservoir and brew basket.
bullet There were a couple reports of peeling of the finish on the warming plate after less than a year of use.
